“ABORTION PILL” KNOWN AS A NON-SURGICAL abortion
Non-surgical abortions, sometimes called medical abortions or medication abortions are performed up to 9 weeks of pregnancy. A non-surgical abortion is administered in pill form that has been approved by the FDA for non-surgical abortions.
At our office you will take the first pill that will stop your pregnancy from growing and another medicine that helps expel your pregnancy — this medication will be taken in the privacy of your own home.
Since there is always a statistically a small chance of failure with this method, you must be willing to have a surgical abortion if the abortion pill doesn’t work. In addition, you must be able to commit to two or more visits to the office and be in good health.
What you can expect:
- Be asked to agree to have a surgical abortion, if the non-surgical abortion fails.
- Be able to receive phone calls from the office.
- Have immediate, reliable access to transportation in the event of an emergency.
- Agree to return to the office for a follow-up check afterwards.
